Alfonso, Cavite — The clouds parted and the skies cleared just in time for visitors and local residents to partake in an about-to-be annual tradition — the CB Christmas Tree Lighting.

Camp Benjamin kicked-off the Holiday Season Wednesday night, October 25, as Mayor Virgilio Varias and We Lead Group Holdings, Inc. Chairman Emmanuel Fernandez, ceremoniously flipped the switch that lit the 30-foot tree at the Mon’s Restaurant’s garden lawn that drew easily more than a hundred people.

For Mayor Varias, he hopes that this event will attract families and visitors alike and, eventually, become a part of everyone’s Yuletide tradition for years to come.

“This is a great way for us to ring in the Holiday Season and take a break from the fast-paced city lifestyle — away from stress,” said Mayor Varias.

“It is a way for us to come together as a community and support our local tourism. It is also a way for us to cherish our tradition, the soft-side of Christmas and we as family-oriented Filipinos.”

The celebration filled the camp with live band performances, tasty snacks and buffet, with faux snow completing this year’s “White Christmas” theme.

Lots of bright and sparkling lights were also scattered all over the camp, adding to the air of festivity and excitement.

“We are really thrilled about this event” said We Lead Group Holdings, Inc. Chairman Emmanuel Fernandez.

“This is truly a time when we should all be thinking about the blessings that we have in life and also spend time with our loved ones. I encourage everyone to bring your family and friends, and this is a very festive way to do that and connect with your community. We wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2018!”

Fernandez also said that the event, likewise, serves as a bridge for the local government and Camp Benjamin to work together and kick-off a series of events that will boost Alfonso’s tourism.

“It is a joy to represent Alfonso. Camp Benjamin is proud to be here in the heart of Alfonso,” Fernandez added.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is expected to draw visitors from different parts of the country and, in the processs, promote Alfonso, Cavite where Camp Benjamin is located.
